Evaluation of Educational Programs as a Strategy for Continuous Improvement

This article shows the importance of the evaluation and accreditation of educational programs since their results lead to the search for solutions for their improvement. The quality of an educational program is established to the extent that it is effective, efficient, relevant, transcendent and equitable. For Higher Education Institutions they are a key element for decision making, and therefore, for institutional planning, which allows the achievement of many of its objectives. It is important to mention that for an evaluation to be successful, it is necessary to consider different standards, among them that it be useful, feasible, ethical and accurate. The evaluation and accreditation of educational programs are strategies for continuous improvement since they are an engine of change that promote reflection, innovation and transformation. Therefore, they are useful strategies for the assurance of academic quality.
