Abstract

A historical journey from the birth and growth of cinema, to the globalized present; emphasizing the problems of documentation, preservation and exhibition, as well as the simultaneous emergence of cultural film industries such as that of Aguascalientes, Mexico, which shares these problems and adds new dimensions.
Through Foucault's horizontal archeology and a rigorous ethnographic work, it is possible to generate the first filmography of cinema made in Aguascalientes. In a work under construction, the first finding is the list of films with local manufacture, and the reflection that emerges as an x-ray of the sociocultural context that crosses the cultural film industry of Aguascalientes, which comes from the direct dialogue with primary and secondary sources, through specialized ethnographic techniques.
