Abstract

This research explores the life of Coronel Amelio Robles, as a performative man, if we name him as a trans man might be a terminology out of context. It exposes the similitudes of his life with the trans-masculine person experience, noticing the feeling of being recognized as a male. At the same time, we look for a historical methodological proposal which denies a definition as masculinized woman to a person who should be studied under the complex experience of being called “masculinized woman” and a constant masculine acting tied with the ideal of a “mexican macho” inside war and outside of it, through his daily life.
