Transvestite sexual identity from multiple forms of violence: An Argentine case
Keywords:
Metaphysics of substance, Butler, identity, violence, body, powerAbstract
This essay analyzes the literary work Las Malas (2019) by Camila Sosa to examine the social and political practices that support transvestite sexual identity. Through a meticulous study of the testimonies present in the novel, various forms of violence that they experience in their becoming an identity are identified and analyzed. Also, some lines are proposed that allow us to capture the gender tensions in this trans experience. The conclusion is that their sexual identity isn´t constructed exclusively from an ego that it thinks of itself, rather the technologies of power provide a series of possibilities to be recognized.
