Abstract

The article examines the motives and intentions of republican writes to pronounce on the political projects for the Chilean republic alluding to classical history. There we created and they reproduced in the mind of the lawyers political, cultural and historical ideas that they could emulate because they considered that they fit their proposals. The reception of ancient history by these men of letter allowed the proliferation of ideas and beliefs of Greco – Roman authors, whose approaches contributed to forming a cultural reception of ancient history that determined a space for debate and public opinion.
