Abstract

The purpose of this short paper is to reflect on the differences between Education and Pedagogy, and the common end in which both converge, according to the phenomenological personalist theory of Karol Wojtyła (1982). The general hypothesis I propose is that, despite conceptual differences, both practices, according to the Polish philosopher's theory, have the dignification of the person as their central task. In part, the work recovers a series of previous results on which a critical analysis of the tasks of both concepts was carried out and where it was concluded that both should promote human dignity (cfr. Esparza, 2007). Another secondary interest for the development of this work is to deepen in the methodological foundations with which some educational centers seek the affirmation of the person by himself.

Licenciado en Pedagogía, Maestro en Enseñanza Superior por la Universidad Pedagógica de Aguascalientes y Doctor en Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades por la Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes. Actualmente se desempeña como profesor de Filosofía en el Centro Escolar El Encino y como investigador del Instituto de Investigación, Capacitación, Adiestramiento y Divulgación del Conocimiento Educativo (INVESCADE).
